AI Storyboarding & Review

AI can sketch a storyboard in minutes, but it still needs a human review loop before it drives an expensive production. PlayPause gives AI-generated boards the same frame-accurate review and logged approval as everything else.

board approval before production

AI has collapsed the time it takes to get from an idea to a visual board. But a board, however it was made, is only useful once a human team has reviewed and approved it. Speed at the draft stage means nothing if the review stage is still chaos. PlayPause gives AI-generated boards the same frame-accurate review and logged approval as everything else, so you keep the speed and add the rigor.

Who this is for

This is for the director, creative, or producer who is generating storyboards with AI and still has to get a human team to react, refine, and sign off before a single expensive frame gets made. The AI gives you a draft in minutes. Then a director, a client, and a team have to weigh in, and that review is where projects are saved or sunk. You want the generation speed without losing control of the decision.

AI drafts, humans decide

An AI board is a starting point, not a finished plan. The questions that matter are human ones: does this beat land, is the staging right, is this what the client actually asked for. Generating ten board variants in an afternoon is only an advantage if you can put them in front of the right people and get a clear, anchored decision back. Without that, you have traded a slow drafting problem for a fast deciding problem, and the deciding problem is the one that blows up the schedule.

How PlayPause fits an AI-board workflow

Push the generated boards to a secure link and comment on each panel, anchored exactly where the change belongs. Draw on a panel to mark a staging fix. Stack board versions as you iterate from prompt to final, so the team can see how the board evolved across rounds. Then lock an explicit approval before production starts, with a name and a timestamp, so the green light is on record.

1Generate the boards with AI, push them to a link
2Pin notes to each panel, draw a staging fix if needed
3Stack versions as you iterate from prompt to final
4Lock an approval before production starts

Clients open the boards through a link with no account, so you can get an outside sign-off on an AI draft without onboarding anyone into a tool.

The old way

AI drafts fast, then notes scatter across chat and the same panel gets re-generated twice

With PlayPause

AI drafts fast, notes anchor to each panel, versions stack, a logged approval closes it

Review · frame-accurate comment

A real board session

A director generates three board variants for a 30-second spot. They push the set to a link and the client opens it. On variant two, panel 5, the client pins "this staging works, but the product needs to be camera-left so the logo reads." That note sits on panel 5. The director re-generates just that panel, pushes it as a new version, and the client compares and confirms. They lock the approval. Production starts from an AI-drafted board that a human actually signed off on, in a day instead of a week.

The features that matter for AI boards

  • Panel-level comments anchored where the change belongs, with draw-on-frame markup
  • Version stacks to track iteration from prompt to final
  • Approval locks with a timestamped record before production
  • Secure no-account client links with watermark, expiry and domain-lock
  • Slack, Teams and Zapier alerts when notes or an approval land

Boards for unannounced projects are confidential whether a human or an AI drew them. Password the link, set an expiry, restrict it to the client's domain, and watermark every panel so a leak traces to a session.

Start free at zero to run one AI board set through review. A small team runs on Agency at fifteen dollars a month per person, and a studio iterating boards across many projects fits Agency at seven. Keep the speed of AI and the rigor of a real approval.
