Stopping Clients From Requesting Timing Changes After Your Animation's Sound Design Is Locked

How animation studios lock timing and easing before sound design starts, so late client requests don't blow up the audio budget after VO locks.

The voiceover is locked, the sound designer has spent two days layering foley and a music bed under a 45-second explainer, and then the client watches the final mix and says the walk cycle at the eleven-second mark should land a beat later. On paper that's a small note, nudge a few keyframes. In practice it means re-timing an animation that audio has already been built and synced against, which means the sound designer has to come back, re-cut foley hits to the new timing, possibly re-record a music stem edit, and the whole thing costs real money on top of the days it costs in schedule.
